On an annual basis, the iconic Preikestolen/Pulpit Rock welcomes more visitors than any other trekking-destination in Norway. In 2018, approximately 300,000 hikers made their way up to the imposing plateau. From atop the 604-meter-high cliff, the panoramic view of the Lysefjord is one of the most impressive Fjord-Norway has to offer.

Book Outdoorlife Norway’s privately-guided hike to Preikestolen and enjoy an intimate, hassle-free visit to one of Norway’s most iconic natural landmarks. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Lysefjord and surrounding mountains from atop Preikestolen. Following the hike, savor a warm bowl of soup and freshly baked bread at Preikestolen Mountain Lodge and conclude your day with a visit to the ‘Swords in Rock’ Viking monument, which is located on the shores of the large bay of Hafrsfjord. Legend says that King Harald Fairhair’s battle triumph in Hafrsfjord (between the years of 872 and 900) resulted in Norway finally becoming one kingdom.
